Caroline Thomas Calder is an artist from Greenville, SC.  She has been painting for more than a decade.  Her affection for the arts began in her childhood with the encouragement of her family, she loved expressing herself by drawing, coloring and creating with her imagination.  Caroline majored in Marketing from the University of South Carolina.  After graduation, she continues to learn, develop her skills and knowledge in the arts by continuing her education through Furman University, GCCA, and numerous workshops.  She creates her art through a variety of mediums predominately working in acrylics and mixed media while experimenting with new techniques and processes.  Her work is expressive, intuitive, and contemplative.  She uses color, form, texture, and pattern to reflect her love of the natural world and the human spirit.  She hopes her work reflects joy and appreciation of life while posing optimistic questions for the future.  Caroline has exhibited her work at Centre Stage, Fork & Plough, juried art shows and galleries in the upstate of SC as well as in local fundraising efforts.  Caroline's work has received awards as one of the winners in the Metropolitan Arts Council (MAC) 2020 Flat Out Under Pressure Juried Exhibition Award, 2023 Merit Award in the Anderson Arts Center Juried Art Show,  as one of the juried winners for the Fall 2021 Camperdown Art Walk exhibit by Art Houzze, as a finalist in the 2022 BMW Pro-Am Poster Contest, which she recieved the People's Choice Award.  Her works are currently available at Cottage Grove Vintage Market, and
